The Philadelphia Baptist Church Worship Orchestra is a dynamic ensemble of musicians using their skills for the glory of God. It is the cornerstone of the instrumental ministry at Philadelphia.  We minister each week during the Sunday morning services at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., leading our congregation in worship. We continually seek to “play skillfully” as instructed in Psalm 33:3. Our ministry extends from our church to our community and beyond. Being involved in the Orchestra will challenge you musically, but most importantly, you will be challenged spiritually, and you will be blessed as you bless others.

The most important requirement to join the orchestra is that you have a heart willing to serve others. The Orchestra’s primary function is to accompany the choir. Through the combined sounds of singing and playing, worshipers are led to the throne of God.

Membership begins with a brief meeting with the Minister of Music. Past or present experience of playing a musical instrument is required. If you are a High School Junior or older, we would love to have you audition to be a part of our ministry.

Rehearsals are Wednesday from 6 to 7:30 PM in the pit.

*Our Orchestra is currently looking for more instrumentalists in the following sections:

Strings - violin, viola, cello, bass

Woodwind - flutes and clarinets

Brass - French Horn, Trumpets and low brass

Please contact Bro. Glenn Price, Minister of Music, if you are interested in ministering in the orchestra.
