As the Zoe Philadelphia Student Ministry, we are “Pro-life” in everything we say or do. We want our students to understand that true life can only be obtained and enjoyed through the grace of Jesus Christ. Do you have life?
The Big Picture
Student life at Philadelphia is important to us because these students have the opportunity to live their whole lives Fighting the Good Fight of Faith. We are committed to our teenagers and to providing them with a meaningful atmosphere to learn and apply God’s standards and truths. We want to offer many opportunities for our young people to come together and build long-lasting Christian friendships through Sunday School, Wednesday night Upper Room, Student Leadership University, fun get-togethers, and yearly events like retreats, mission trips and camps.
FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT OF FAITH, LAY HOLD ON ETERNAL LIFE, TO WHICH YOU WERE ALSO CALLED AND HAVE CONFESSED THE GOOD CONFESSION IN THE PRESENCE OF MANY WITNESSES. - 1 Timothy 6:12
Wednesday nights are where our students really get to hang out together and enjoy themselves. The students can take advantage of the game rooms while the music is being played in the background. Some students just enjoy talking and checking out all the pictures on the walls before the service starts. The Wednesday night events usually begin with powerful worship led by our praise and worship band, “United 1 Worship Band”. After the worship, we break off into groups consisting of Jr. High and Sr. High. After breaking off, we play a crazy game that opens us up and gets us laughing. Following the game, our students then participate in a small Student Accountability Group and also listen to the night’s devotion with Bro. Stuart.
Our most important week of the year is Summer Camp week. All Philadelphia students make plans to go to Summer Camp. We offer a Jr. High Camp and a Sr. High Camp. Our student ministry has many opportunities for students to raise money through fundraisers throughout the year. Students will also receive $50 off their camp price by just being involved in a student ministry like Act 1 Drama Team, One Voice Youth Choir, Rhythm 1 Drum Line, One Move Stomp Team, Reach 1 Student Faith, or United 1 Worship Praise Band.
Among other events, Disciple Now Weekend and YEC (The Youth Evangelism Conference) are yearly retreats that our students really enjoy every year.
The Zoe Servant Ministry schedule runs concurrent with the Rapides Parish school calendar year. Click here for the Zoe Youth Calendar
4:00-5:00 PM - Reach 1 Faith | Meet in the Welcome Center
During the Fall & Spring semesters, students have the opportunity to participate in Student Faith. Students meet together in a small group and learn how to better share their faith. The studies the students participate in are easy to learn and are challenging at the same time. Students & Youth Drivers meet in the PBC Welcome Center to make visitation teams. We pray together then we go out on visits in the neighborhoods. The students love the time they get to minister and invite their fellow students to church or lead them to Christ.
5:00-6:00 PM - Act 1 Drama | Meet in Room 201
Students who love skits and drama meet to run through their scripts. In addition to performing these skits for our own church, Drama students will also enjoy performing them at many other venues that include other churches and on mission trips.
5:00-6:00 PM - Rhythm 1 Trashcan Drum Line | Meet in Youth Room
Sunday evenings can get loud for the Zoe Drum Line. Using trash cans, buckets, metal cans, pots and pans, students perform drum cadences that get you moving to the rhythm. The Drum Line will perform together with other ministry teams on some songs, as well as perform cadences on their own. The Drum Line seeks to bring Glory to God with their rhythm sounds.
5:00-6:00 PM - One Move Stomp | Meet in Room 202
The Stomp team ministers through rhythmic movements that grab the audience's attention with the evangelistic intention of sharing the Gospel. Every Sunday evening practices are exhilarating as they prepare to perform for Block Parties, Youth Revivals, and many other events.
6:00-7:00 PM - One Voice Youth Choir | Meet in Choir Room
Under the leadership of Bro. Glenn Price, this Student Choir is larger and more powerful than ever. Learning new songs and combining them with familiar ones, this Student Choir is armed and ready for battle. Singing praise to God has never been more fun. Students will enjoy performing in our own church, as well as many other places that include other churches and mission trips.
