AWANA stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed. It is taken from 2 Timothy 2:15. The purpose of the AWANA ministry is to reach boys and girls with the gospel of Christ and to train them to serve Him. The AWANA ministry at Philadelphia Baptist Church works in unison with the other ministries at church to help your child learn about Jesus and to grow in Him.
Registation dues are $20.00 per child. Dues include the cost of all curriculum, awards, and program for an enitre club year. Club shirts and bags are available for additional costs and are a vital part of the club program. Some scholarships are available for those needing assistance. Awana runs concurent with the Rapides Parish School Calendar 2010-'11 beginning in August the week after school starts and ends around the last week of school in May. Awana does not meet on recognized Rapides Parish School holidays such as the weeks of Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, and Easter.
The 2010-2011 AWANA Semester begins August 25, 2010 and will go through May 16, 2011.

CUBBIES must have reached their 3rd birthday on or before September 1 and be fully potty-trained to participate.
Opening Ceremonies begins at 6:00pm.
Clubbers are dismissed at 7:45pm.
