Be diligent to present yourself approved to God,

a worker who does not need to be ashamed,

rightly dividing the word of truth.

2 Timothy 2:15 NKJV

AWANA stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed.  It is taken from 2 Timothy 2:15.  The purpose of the AWANA ministry is to reach boys and girls with the gospel of Christ and to train them to serve Him.  The AWANA ministry at Philadelphia Baptist Church works in unison with the other ministries at church to help your child learn about Jesus and to grow in Him.

Registation dues are $20.00 per child.  Dues include the cost of all curriculum, awards, and program for an enitre club year.  Club shirts and bags are available for additional costs and are a vital part of the club program.  Some scholarships are available for those needing assistance.  For scholarship information contact Awana commanders Joe & Tonya Bryant or Bro. Andrew.  Awana runs concurent with the Rapides Parish School Calendar 2010-'11 beginning in August the week after school starts and ends around the last week of school in May.  Awana does not meet on recognized Rapides Parish School holidays such as the weeks of Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, and Easter.
